Welcome to

Pollington-Balne Church of England Primary School.

Welcome to Pollington-Balne Church of England Primary School

As the newly appointed Headteacher of Pollington-Balne, I feel privileged to be working with hardworking enthusiastic pupils and dedicated staff, who are eager to achieve in everything that we do.

Although academic success is important to us, we are passionate in our endeavours to develop the whole child, and support pupils’ emotional and social development. We provide a well-rounded education for our pupils, with opportunities for all children to shine and promote our strong values of teamwork, respect and inclusivity though our Christian ethos. We strongly believe ‘each person is utterly precious’. Our mission is as easy as ABC:

· Achieving and Aspiration – a school in which children aspire to achieve their personal potential.

· Belonging and Becoming – a place in which strong roots enable each individual to flourish

· Care and Community – a school that is from and for the community.

We work closely with the on-site Preschool, and local secondary schools to ensure smooth transition for pupils, and through the Parent Teacher Association, work hard to involve families in their children’s learning.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school directly with any queries you may have.

If you require a paper copy of anything on our website or a version in braille, please contact the admin team. I look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful school. Please do pay us a visit – we would be most happy and proud to show you what we have on offer here at Pollington-Balne. Appointments can be made via our admin assistant - Mrs. Bainbridge - in the office on 01405 861916.

In January 2022, we entered into a collaborative leadership with Cowick CE VC Primary School which is situated 4.6 miles from Pollington-Balne Primary School. This is an exciting opportunity for both schools. We already work collaboratively on a number of projects linked to the school development plans. I work across both schools throughout the week. Mrs Arnold, continues to be associate Headteacher at Pollington-Balne for a day a week during the spring term to ensure a smooth handover and transition.

My usual working pattern at Cowick is Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and at Pollington is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Kind Regards

Mrs. Katherine Rawes

Executive Headteacher

Pollington-Balne CE Primary School

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

As the Chair of Pollington-Balne Primary School, on behalf of the governing body we have great pleasure in extending a warm welcome from our small, friendly village school. As a place where we strive to encourage all our pupils to ‘be the best that they can be’, it is the role of the governing body at Pollington Balne Primary school to support the vision of the headteacher and teaching team by ensuring that children’s aspirations are fostered and supported through inspirational educational experiences.

As a governing body, we are not here to get involved with the day to day running of our school however, we are passionate about providing strategic direction and accountability through a ‘critical friend’ approach of processes and practices, including aspects of finance. In doing so, we can reflect upon and ‘champion’ our headteacher to implement improvement plans, through regular interactions in support of reaching ultimate learning experiences for our children.

We have an active and dedicated governing body at Pollington Balne Primary, all of whom have a wealth of skills and experience in various areas such as IT, Health and Safety, Finance, Early Years and HR to name but a few. As a church school, we also have a religious input to the social, moral and Christian outcomes of the school community from our appointed diocese governors.

If you would like to know more about becoming a governor or provide further feedback and would like to get contact us, then we would be happy to hear from you please contact the school office.

Kind Regards

On behalf of Pollington-Balne Primary Governors,

Chair of Governors,

Anna Laycock-Brown
