Upcoming Class Novels;

In the Summer term we will be reading another classic by the Irish author Eoin Colfer - The Legend of Captain Crow’s Teeth, comparing this with The Legend of Spud Murphy. 
 

We will also be reading a classic by Anthony Browne -  The Tunnel. This will be read as part of a narrative writing unit in which we will use it as a stimulus for writing.

We will then finish the term by voting for an old classic. Will it be Winnie the Pooh? Will it be Paddington Bear? Or will it be The lion, the witch and the wardrobe?

You’ll have to wait and see!

In Autumn 1 the children enjoyed stories about Anansi the Trickster Spider by Lynne Garner

The stories featured in this book introduce Anansi the Spider, a traditional African trickster character. Anansi is as clever as he is lazy and he loves to prove just how smart he is by tricking the people of the village and the animals of the jungle. Luckily Anansi is not always as clever as he likes to think he is. Sometimes everything backfires on him and he becomes the victim of his own tricks.
