Curriculum

At Pollington-Balne Primary, we recognise that every child is an individual and they are equal in terms of opportunity. We tailor the curriculum to meet the needs of individual children, providing them with their own, carefully structured, thematic learning pathways. These cover all the requirements made upon the school in terms of the skills to be developed through the Foundation Stage and National Curriculum. They include built-in progression, the use of new and emerging technology and links between subjects are exploited to make learning as exciting and stimulating as possible.

Across the school the curriculum is divided into areas of learning; reading, writing, mathematics, religious education, history, geography, science, arts & design, language and information technology. Grammar is taught discreetly in accordance with guidelines.

Personal, social and health education (PSHE) and social, moral, spiritual and cultural (SMSC) skills are taught throughout the curriculum.
