preschool's current learning
This term we are learning to grow as we grow! Pollington Preschool this term will be focusing on making the most of our lovely summer and completing the following subjects:
- Bean planting: We will be planting our very own beans and watching them grow daily, into a beautiful bean plant to take home and be proud of!
- Outdoor gardening: We are also going to be digging deep and planting some beautiful flowers, some yummy vegetables and different herbs in our outdoor area, how exciting will it be for us to watch them grow and to even taste or smell them!
- Minibeasts: There is nothing more exciting than exploring the different minibeasts that come out during the summer including: ants, spiders, bees, flies, butterflies, caterpillars, slugs, beetles, worms and ladybirds! Let’s go on a minibeast hunt with our magnifying glasses and see what we can find; and what we can learn about them! What do they eat? Where do they live? How many legs do they have? Can they fly? There are so many unanswered questions we can learn all about!
- The cycle of a butterfly: To link in with learning all about how the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly we will be responsible for caring for new born baby caterpillars and watching them transform into beautiful butterflies right before our very eyes in 2 weeks! We will finish the topic by setting them free in our outdoor area and watching them fly into the sky to start their new adventures!
