Thank you for your continued hard work during this very tricky time. As we come into the month of July I will continue to contact you to check that you are doing well and also offer Microsoft Teams chats. I am very much learning how to do this and I know there have been some teething problems last week but I will offer you another slot to try again this week.
Please continue to read your Read, Write Inc. books that are in the folder and if you are able to send me a video of your child reading too. I would also like to encourage you all to use Oxford Owl as much as possible because I hope that we can continue with this resource over the summer and into next year.
Mathletics is still there and the work books are available within the Mathematics folder if you would like to keep your skills sharp using this great resource.
I hope you are finding The Oak National Academy and BBC Bitesize resources have some enjoyable activities within the daily schedule for you to pick and mix. I have also added a sheet to introduce your child to cursive letter formation which we will be teaching in September. This is where each letter starts on the writing line then a gentle whoosh up to start the letter using the letter rhyme from Read, Write Inc. It would be good to start to become familiar with this new style of handwriting to help your child learn to join up and speed up their independent writing.
As always I am very happy to offer additional resources to you by personal request if there is anything that your child has been especially motivated by during last week and the weekend.
As we look towards the end of term and beyond we do not know how school will be for September but please continue to check with the app for up to date information. We are offering taster dates if you would like to take advantage of this to help your child experience how very different school is during this time please contact Julie Bainbridge in the office for this to be organised.
Please keep your child going with regular reading, writing and maths this week to help keep their skills sharp ready for whatever September looks like.
Stay safe and well
