Jubilee Fayre 2012
Despite the disappointing weather, great fun was had by all on Saturday 19th May at this year's fayre. The Pollington community supported the event in their usual generous way, and helped raise a total of £910 for school funds!
Lydia's Presentation Assembly
We were delighted to be able to present Lydia with a cheque for £6000, from all the money raised during this year, during a special assembly on Friday 18th May.
Class 3 International Evening
Class 3's 'India' topic culminated in a very enjoyable evening, when the children demonstrated what they have learnt. The children had prepared some traditional Indian cuisine, and "Simply Indian" in Pollington, very kindly provided some snacks. The evening was a wonderful event, enjoyed by everyone who attended!
French Skipping Workshop
The children recently spent the day learning about different playground games from around the world, and how to French Skip. Some purchased their own French Skipping ropes, and we hope to see them being used as an additional playground activity!
World Book Day 2012
This year we celebrated World Book Week, and the children dressed as their favourite book character to end the week!
World Wildlife Week
The children spent some time thinking about endangered animals around the world during this week, and about our responsibility to protect habitats. The week culminated in a visit from Sam Safaris, which Ben Kiddy (Y6) arranged. Thanks Ben!
Thai Colourful Day
Mrs Smith gave the school an update about our linked school in Thailand. The children all showed their concern about the effects of the recent typhoons. It was lovely to see them all dressed in their most colourful clothes, and enthusiastically learning their Thai song!
Wild West Day
'Cowboys and Indians' were the order of the day during our recent 'Wild West Day'
Spring Term Snow
Much fun was had by all the children (and staff) with the arrival of this year's snow.
'A Christmas Carol' Day
Staff and children enjoyed their annual pyjama day, while studying the story of Charles Dicken's 'A Christmas Carol'. The day ended with them receiving their special gift of Victorian coins, with its special Christmas message.
